i got a new desktop with the graphics media accelerator 3100 video card. However, when i check system requirements for games, it only lists nvidia cards and radeon. what is this card equal to?

Crap if your looking at games.

That is an integrated card, meaning it is attached to the motherboard.

It won't be great for games, you'd be best to get a cheap 30 or 40 dollar card from nvidia/ati that.

You can play games off the media accelerator, but it really can't do shaders, shadows, or anything special. Its really just best for basic computing and watching videos.

Theres really no way to tell other than the see what particular requirements the game has of a card (aka put an example game up in your question).
